Kickstarter VS Itch.io preorders

Hello all!

We hope that you enjoyed our Chapter 2 trial!

With the release of another trial and our Kickstarter now concluded, we’ve thought about how this may generate interest in preordering Kokorogawari. Currently, our only other method of purchasing Kokorogawari is via our itch.io store page.

Moreover, we want to make sure that everyone who has decided to purchase Kokorogawari through itch.io- or already has- will know exactly what to expect. We’ve updated our “Purchase” page to include instructions and a quick list of what our two itch.io editions- the Standard and Deluxe respectively- have on offer, but today we’d like to go into a lot more detail. This will also include discussing the similarities/differences between the itch.io editions with certain Kickstarter tiers.

The Standard Edition (US$25) contains:

+ The short version of of Kokorogawari’s opening theme song.

However, purchasers before the game’s release will additionally receive:
+ Preorder desktop wallpaper

+ Preorder exclusive short story e-book

The Deluxe Edition (US$35) contains:

+ Deluxe Edition exclusive short story e-book (for our Kickstarter, we renamed this to the “Watercolour Paint Set tier short story e-book”)
+ Digital artbook by Shirou Yuki
+ Digital artbook by Sechiruu
+ Digital CG Collection e-book
+ Digital Kokorogawari soundtrack album (includes the full version of the opening theme song)
+ Developer’s Notes e-book

+ Special mini quiz game

However, purchasers before the game’s release will additionally receive:
+ Preorder desktop wallpaper

+ Preorder exclusive short story e-book

The similarities/differences with the Kickstarter tiers

As you can see, the Standard Edition is like a meeting-in-the-middle of our “Drawing Board” and “Charcoal Sketches” tiers, and the Deluxe Edition is almost identical to the “Watercolour Paint Set” tier.

To prevent any confusion, we would like to outline:

* The largest difference of all- the itch.io Deluxe Edition will come with a special mini quiz game regardless of when the game is purchased, while in Kickstarter’s case this mini quiz game is exclusive to those who backed “The Masterpiece” or higher.

* The bonus preorder short story e-book for both itch.io and Kickstarter will be identical. The preorder short stories consist of a situation that happened during the course of the game retold through the love interests’ eyes (there is one of each for Shinichi, Yuuya and Guillam).

* Similarly to the above, though the Deluxe Edition exclusive short story e-book was referred to as the “Watercolour Paint Set tier short story e-book” during our campaign for Kickstarter purposes, they are identical to one another. These short stories will focus on the relationships of each couple a short while after the ‘Good’ ends (again, there is one of each for Shinichi, Yuuya and Guillam).

* The preorder desktop wallpaper and the Kickstarter wallpaper are also identical.
